Orange dot

Is the orange dot an indicator the microphone is active and recording?

I have turned off access to my microphone to all my apps and but have noticed that it still appears when I make a phone call, is there any way to turn it off?

I have also noticed that when I go to my passcode screen that the orange dot is randomly there even though I have turned the app access off and I am not making a call. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there’s way of stopping it?

the orange dot does not mean something is recording.

it just means the microphone is being used.

If you are on a phone call, then your microphone is being used right?

I'm not sure why it would blip on when on your lock screen. if you hold the side button to turn on your phone, it might be Siri listening?
