shortcuts just stop working

I have had iOS 14.2 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max for a couple of weeks. In the past few days the shortcuts to my icons (widget pics on Home Screen) stop working. Can't do anything so I reboot and that does reset them. But it is happening too often. I feel like this just isn't right.

Also, I posted another problem a month ago and have not seen a response from Apple on it. I do not receive notifications for iMessages or emails. I used to have numbers come up under phone/messages/email/calendar. The only thing I have gotten to work is a quick banner at the top of the page. Problem with that is if I have my phone laying down & go pick it up I have to search places to see if I have new info. I've don't the reset from back up & tried many things that have been suggested in articles or on the discussion boards. Frustrated.

We see that you're having some issues with your shortcuts not working until you restart your iPhone then they work again, as well as not receiving notifications for incoming messages or emails. These are all important to make your day go smoothly. We're glad you reached out for help.

Starting with your shortcuts, when they stop working is the shortcut itself blank or does it not update and run? If you follow the resource below and delete a shortcut then set up again does it work properly?

Now moving on to your notifications, does this only happen with Messages and Mail? Do you have a VPN connection installed on your device? Do you use Do Not Disturb?
