Different fonts for different languages in pages

I have recently started using pages. The problem I have is that while I use pages to write a document in different languages, I have to change the font again and again each time I switch my language. For example I use B-Nazanin font for Persian and Times New Roman for English and each time I switch between these languages I should manually change the font and it's frustrating . Is there any way to set default font for each language in pages?

No, you need a more advanced word processor for that. Nisus Writer should work. Maybe Word or LibreOffice, I would have to test.

Do you have to use B-Nazanin? MacOS comes with a number of fonts for Arabic script that can probably also do English.

PS I am pretty sure that Word and LibreOffice cannot link keyboards and fonts, but (in addition to Nisus Writer) the Mellel app mentioned by VikingOSX can do it via its "secondary font" settings.

What about creating new paragraph styles for each language, in its respective font — saved in a new custom template. Then you apply the appropriate Paragraph style for Persian or English as the text dictates.

Mellel 5 allows you to associate character styles with paragraph styles for even more flexibility. It offers table of contents and an index, both of which can be exported to PDF, or Word docx.
