Cannot add folder of custom desktops

What happens when you choose the Apple defaults:

remove the option to change photos automatically as a test.

There is an obvious problem with your custom folder and the path, so try something different.

I just did a quick test. The images inside the folder do not appear in System Preferences, but selecting the folder DOES work.
