Camera not working in Big Sur

Camera has stopped working. It goes for all applications.

It's interesting because I upgraded to Big Sur and have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) (MacBookPro13,3) and did not have a problem with the camera failing. As far as I can tell, some others with this model did have the problem.

So it might not be model specific.

Can anyone confirm 100% that they have the same MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) (MacBookPro13,3) and it has the problem?

Great idea, The_Knowledge_Seeker. I've read through and tried all suggested solutions and still having the same issue with my MacBook Air. Info below. I get "No video capture devices were found" on all apps.

I'm sorry, I don't believe in this. My MacBook Pro's camera was working until I updated to BigSur. Now it's not working anymore. If Apple comes to me saying ''but that a faulty hardware might be triggered by an update'' it's something I cannot stand. I hope Apple will solve this asap because It's already a lot since I cannot use my iSight camera! This situation ****** me a lot off even cause it's something that happened to a other people, not only to me or to you.

More interesting, if you're Mac is listed above but you are not having this problem, can you confirm that too, please?

FYI: My own Mac does not have the issue and yet is on the above list (MacBookPro13,3 (MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)))

Perhaps eventually we can provide Apple with enough information to figure this out. I'm still thinking it's firmware related.

My Mac's firmware (for the MacBookPro13,3 (MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)) is 429.60.3.0.0 - does anyone have a different version of firmware for this Mac?

This is NOT a Big Sur problem. I first noticed it on Catalina, so I just updated to Big Sur in hopes that it would fix the problem. No luck. MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)

I don't think a downgrade of firmware is possible; if it is a firmware issue, only a new firmware update would replace it.

That said, others here are saying it's probably not a firmware issue.

Like a few others, I had this issue upon updating to Catalina, and then Big Sur did not fix it.

Also, firmware is the older 425.0.0.0.0

Even on my brand new Macbook Air M1 I have the same issue. No camera is displayed under Hardware/Camera. Hardware diagnostics said all good, no problem.

Strangely, under Security/Camera, no apps are shown to choose from. Except for Microsoft Remote Desktop, which I installed from the App Store.

I already tried the security settings, I cannot add applications, but I have zoom and skype already there probably because it was before I up graded? I selected them, but it still does not work as my computer does not recognise the camera hardware..
