Wifi Calls keep dropping after a few mins

Hello,

I had an iPhone 8 and sometime after the iOS 14 updates began my WiFi calls started dropping after about 3-5 minutes. It happens on every single call. I just got an iPhone 12 Pro yesterday and I was hoping that would solve the problem. That is not the case however. It is still happening. A google search seems to show a good number of people with Verizon having this issue, but there are also plenty from other carriers. Based on what I can gather, this seems to be an iOS 14.x issue. Anybody have a solution?

Hello Justinm0776,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your Wi-Fi calls are dropping after 3-5 minutes on both your iPhone 8 and iPhone 12, running iOS 14. It will be our pleasure to assist you.

We'd like to check your settings to ensure your calls remain connected.

If you continue to encounter dropped calls, please let us know:

  1. If you have Wi-Fi Assist enabled
  2. If this occurs when you are within signal range of the cell phone towers
  3. If you're able to browse the internet in Safari when this occurs

Kind regards.
