Can i transfer WORD from my old Imac to my new Imac
If your new Mac is running Catalina (10.15.*) or Big Sur (11..*), then Office 2008/2011 Office suites are incompatible because they are 32-bit, and the two mentioned operating systems now require 64-bit applications. See my previous post about obtaining Microsoft 64-bit Office solutions, or alternatives. Your MS Office documents are not affected by the 32-bit/64-bit issue, and will be fine on the new Mac.
You may want to run the free Go64 application on your old Mac to get a picture of what 32-bit software is installed there. You may be faced with other applications that require upgrades by their vendor for compatibility with the first paragraph, or alternative software replacement where the vendor has no 64-bit solution.

If you originally installed MS Word from a CD or internet download you will probably have to reinstall it the same way on your new computer as Microsoft typically does not allow it's programs to be copied from one computer to another.
Depends on how "old" and how "new" and which version of "Word".
