iMac display issue

I've got a 2010 iMac model FC508LL/A and the display just started acting up. It will no longer boot up, it gets stuck on the loading screen as pictured. I'm still able to get into recovery mode, and was able to format the hard drive and reinstall the OS, but it didn't make a difference. I get thick white vertical lines for most of the boot, also in recovery, but then it changes to a strange pattern when it gets stuck (as in the photo). I'm suspecting a graphics card issue, may need to be re-soldered or replaced. If that's the case, it's not worth my time. But, if anyone can think of a software fix or quick hardware fix, please let me know, thanks.

The GPU is failing, it's time to replace the old girl. It has been considered obsolete for many years now meaning parts are not available.
