Bose Companion 5 not working with latest Mac OS (Ventura) I just wanted to resurface a solution to this problem that another member posted some time ago, and which is in a closed thread. The original message read: "There are many threads over the Internet discussing issues with Bose Companion 5 when connected via USB. I found no answer in those discussions, but I found a solution and I'd like to share it here. All the old threads are locked, so I can't post a reply, so here we are. I had sent Bose my subwoofer unit for repair, but the issue persisted. But using the previously mentioned cable solved all issue immediately. Posting here in case it is helpful to anyone.

M1 MacBook Pro audio glitch I cannot locate a relevant thread here, but there are reports all over the internet, including several audio forums and Apple dev. forums regarding audio glitches on M1 hardware. The audio crackling or popping can occur in any application and is frequently (perhaps always?) accompanied by a console message like the following: 3587 HALS_OverloadMessage.cpp:222 HALS_OverloadMessage: Overload due to HAL client proc exceeding io cycle budget The audio defect, and console message occur *almost every time* I use an application with audio. I am running MacOS 12.6 on a MacBookPro18,3. Internet lore on the subject suggests deleting the audio plist files in /Library/Preferences/Audio/. I have not found that to be a reliable fix for the problem. Has anyone discovered a reliable solution to this problem? Please help, Apple. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Where has the Apple Music AirPlay icon gone in Ventura update? Since updating to Mac Ventura (13.0.1) on my MacBook M1 Pro, the AirPlay icon in the Apple Music app, (the one that appears next to the volume controls at the top), no longer appears. How can I play my Apple Music on my Bluetooth device without outputting my entire Mac's sound? Never had this issue until the moment I updated. Has it moved somewhere else, or has the most useful feature in Apple Music bizarrely been removed?? Any help much appreciated.

I seem to have a problem with Bose not getting pick up

during ZOOM.

Bose shows up on output and is highlighted but the sound

is not coming out of Bose.

Anything else I should do?

Hello paulacpw,

It sounds like you are not seeing your Bluetooth speaker as an output option.

Here are some resources that can help:

Review "If you’re trying to listen through external speakers" here If you can’t hear sound from your Mac speakers

You can also try some basic isolation and troubleshooting steps:

Restart your Mac: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
Test in safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode
See if it's specific to your user account by creating a test user: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Thanks for this additional information. If this is only happening in this application, you may want to look further into the settings specifically for this app. You can try Changing settings in the desktop client or mobile app and if it continues you may want to look into contacting the app developer directly for more assistance Zoom technical support.
