Notification and sound

When my phone is laying on the table and I get a text, normally I’d hear a text notification. I can press the home button to open my text and everything is fine.

Now... I get a text. I hear the little song I have set. I press the home button and all of a sudden the volume is at its highest! The notification sound is fine but the moment I press the home button the volume shoots up! I’ve tried turning everything down and still nothing! It keeps happening.

what could be going on?

It sounds like when receiving a notification, the sound increases when you pick up your phone.

Here are some resources and isolation steps that might help:

Review: Change notification settings on iPhone
- Test this sound with other apps.
- Test other sounds for this app:
Test without a case to see if it could be manipulating your speaker.
Test on different surfaces.
Restart your iPhone

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately it didn’t help. I’m not sure what’s going on. I changed up the sounds, removed my apple case, changed setting, restarted but still having the same issue.

so frustrating. Especially when I need my phone to be on the lowest volume and I get a text, once I pick up my phone and press the home button the volume just jumps to the highest setting! Ughhh so frustrating!
