This seems like your carrier issue, Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) The agency who issued the SIM to you.

Call Failed or Dropped Calls / Disconnecting

In telecommunications, a dropped-call / Auto Disconnecting Calls / Call-Failed Muted conversation are mainly due to technical reasons / fault at the carrier's end. At times the calls are cut off before the speaking parties had finished their conversation and before one of them had hung up (dropped calls or Call Failed or Auto Disconnection or muted calls).

Few Reasons Your device Keeps Muting / Dropping / Disconnecting Calls or encounter Call Failed.

  • Your Signal Is Weak.
  • It's Raining (Cats & Dog)
  • The Cell Tower Is Overloaded / Heavy Traffic (Telecommunication)
  • You've Misunderstood Your Signal Strength
  • You are moving and the signal weakens while changing from one tower to another

I am having the same issue. Just started using my iphone 12 pro 2 days ago. It was working just fine while I was at home. Today when I went out signals kept dropping throughout. There is no network issue as I have been using the iPhone 11 Pro until 2 days ago and going to the same route everyday with no issues. Now the same route signals were dropping all the time, with hardly less than a minute where I can actually use my network.

"iPhone 12 dropped calls: 100% this particular phone! My husband and I had no issues with the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro Max drops calls and calls fails all the time. This is an Apple issue, not the carrier. Unfort there isn't anything we can do about it until Apple figures out why it isn't working correctly."

Are You Using Zoom?:

If you are using Zoom, then contact Zoom to find out exactly what is going on here, from their perspective. What you mention is a common problem, and Zoom is consistently working on it, I'm certain. Being a somewhat new of a new application, Zoom is in high-demand and its usage is way up there, so to speak. So I am sure they are doing all they can to keep up with managing data.

I had an issue with calls with high static, or background noise to where the receiver couldn't here me, or the sound was very distorted.

The Fix: after hours with the carrier and tech support at both T-Mobile/ Sprint and Apple: I turned off the "Noise Cancellation", and it seems to have resolved.

  1. Settings; Accessibility; Audio/ Visual; "Phone Noise Cancellation" = Off

Same. It’s hard to describe too because it’s technically not a dropped call. I hear the person just fine but they can’t hear me and then they hang up. Only fix is to call back but it happens again.

I have reset network settings, ran diagnostics with both Verizon and Apple, got new SIM card, tried to see if it worked better with or without WiFi calling on, tried turning 5g off, reinstalled iOS from scratch at the Apple store and still had problems. So I got a replacement phone and am having the same issues.

never had these issues on my old iPhone so it has to be some issue with the 12.

SravanKrA i see you cut and paste the same reply to multiple issues. Gotta take some contribution points back! you arent understanding the issues. It is an Iphone problem, not the carrier. I have two phones on sprint. one drops calls multiple times in a row all day long, one does not get notifications of messages. I just switched over to Verizon and I now have two phones - one drops calls multiple times in a row all day long and the other does not get notifications of messages.

It’s Apple, not the cell phone service provider. I had an xr before I bought my 12 pro. As soon as I switched phones was when the issues started with dropped calls. I lose service same spot everyday while I’m driving home. My old iPhone never dropped calls like that. I buy Apple because there products work. If they don’t fix this in an update it will be the last one I buy.

I am also having this issue with a 12 Pro I just purchased last week. Never have had any issue such as this from ANY other Apple or Samsung product and I've been in the same home for 25 years. Today was a bad day , started with "Call Failed", then proceeded to receiving party unable to hear me and then concluded with a dropped call after holding with someone for a few minutes. All within a few hours of each other. Contacted Apple support and they ran a diagnostic on my phone ... noted the dropped calls were all on Wi-Fi and suggested I turn Wi-Fi calling to OFF. Will try this for a few days and see if the problem persists.

I agree with everyone who has already written about this problem. I had an I-phone 6 for 8 years and just upgraded to the I-phone 12 on Jan. 11th. NEVER had a problem with service or calls dropping off in all the years I have had an I-phone starting with the 4S and then the 6. Since Jan. 11th, there hasn't been a day that a call hasn't had a problem--I can hear my caller but the caller keeps talking and saying are you there. Then I call them back. It is truly frustrating! I've been to Sprint-TMobile 4 times--they switched the SIM card from Sprint to T-Mobile and NOTHING solves this problem as it is an Apple problem and Apple needs to figure out how to resolve this. I also don't think this is a carrier problem as comments about "dropped calls" are from every carrier and only for the I-phone 12. I have emailed Apple twice and also called them. I honestly don't think they know what to do. I truly believe this has to do with the new 5G towers since every I-phone that doesn't not have 5G is not having this problem. My suggestion is to continue calling and writing to Apple and to whatever you can to let the public know about this problem--I will start using Twitter and Facebook and probably will go to my local TV & radio media to get this problem on the air. When it hits Apple's bottom line, then maybe they will address the problem. Last solution--is to get Apple to take the I-phone 12 back and give me a earlier version I-phone.

I have to agree with others. This is an Apple problem, not the carrier. Two people right next to me, on the same network, one with an XR, another with 11 Pro, no problems, no dropped calls. My 12 mini drops calls all the time. More accurately, all of a sudden the person on the other end of my call can't hear me. I can hear them perfectly. They can't hear me. Happens quite often, at least 2/3rds of the time. Very annoying.

At the moment, I am testing whether or not disabling WiFi has anything to do with improving.
