I am also having this issue with a 12 Pro I just purchased last week. Never have had any issue such as this from ANY other Apple or Samsung product and I've been in the same home for 25 years. Today was a bad day , started with "Call Failed", then proceeded to receiving party unable to hear me and then concluded with a dropped call after holding with someone for a few minutes. All within a few hours of each other. Contacted Apple support and they ran a diagnostic on my phone ... noted the dropped calls were all on Wi-Fi and suggested I turn Wi-Fi calling to OFF. Will try this for a few days and see if the problem persists.
Well - March 26th - Just got mine out of the box on march 20th, activated used it mostly in my house (covid of course) so today was first day to turn off wifi and walk, had a a call on my walk and it dropped. Went to airplane mode and back, figured maybe had to re-acquire tower. Called user back.. walked some more and dropped again. Was like WTF? i never had this problem before. I got back to house and made call, and it was ok. Before i got this phone - so like last week - cellular coverage the same - i was able to go everywhere around where i am, NO problem - i maded team calls (ms teams), Duo (like face time) and regular calls all over - no problem at all. This is so freakin disappointing - reported in december of 2020 from what i can tell on the web - and it is still TOTALLY a problem. I will return mine to Verizon this week if nothing is released to fix this. Crazy!
I have exactly the same problem since I moved to iPhone 12 (mini).
people can hear me the first second then they can’t but I can clearly hear them
I also get calls to drop automatically saying call failed. This is with full bars....
SravanKrA i see you cut and paste the same reply to multiple issues. Gotta take some contribution points back! you arent understanding the issues. It is an Iphone problem, not the carrier. I have two phones on sprint. one drops calls multiple times in a row all day long, one does not get notifications of messages. I just switched over to Verizon and I now have two phones - one drops calls multiple times in a row all day long and the other does not get notifications of messages.
Agreed. I have a new 12 Max Pro and calls drop most of the time. Other iPhone's in the house (older models) and calls almost never drop. I need WiFi calling otherwise I have no connectivity so disabling it is not an option.
I was getting ready to purchase new iPhones for my son and me. I'm happy I started reading these reviews. I will wait until a fix is found. I have been using iPhones since the iPhone 5. I really don't want to switch, but we have iPhone 8s and want to switch providers. SMH
The same has happened to me since I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max in January 2021 (Verizon). I Had iPhone 11 Pro Max and never had phone calls drop. This is especially frustrating while holding a call, the person can hear you but you can’t hear them; then call ends. I’ve tried ALL of the suggested solutions and nothing works.
No just regular phone calls
Me too. And it is frustrating.
When will this issue be resolved? It’s very annoying!
I can hear callers fine, after I say hello they can't hear me but I continue to be able to hear them fine
I will check, i am pretty sure i had that off - but will test this weekend. I do not want to go thru the pain of returning and wiping phone. Thanks for the post

Are You Using Zoom?:
If you are using Zoom, then contact Zoom to find out exactly what is going on here, from their perspective. What you mention is a common problem, and Zoom is consistently working on it, I'm certain. Being a somewhat new of a new application, Zoom is in high-demand and its usage is way up there, so to speak. So I am sure they are doing all they can to keep up with managing data.
Zoom Contact Information:
I have to agree with others. This is an Apple problem, not the carrier. Two people right next to me, on the same network, one with an XR, another with 11 Pro, no problems, no dropped calls. My 12 mini drops calls all the time. More accurately, all of a sudden the person on the other end of my call can't hear me. I can hear them perfectly. They can't hear me. Happens quite often, at least 2/3rds of the time. Very annoying.
At the moment, I am testing whether or not disabling WiFi has anything to do with improving.
Definitely not a carrier issue my daughter has same carrier on my line and her phone is working perfectly fine
