iPhone 8 rear camera won't focus after IOS update

Immediately after updating the IOS on my iPhone 8 the rear camera has stuck at a focal length of approximately 12" from the lens. This happened straight after the update? Any idea?

I was planning on getting a new iPhone but am really nervous if this sort of thing can happen as a result of software updates
