phone screen is unresponsive and apps dont open. impossible to turn phone off

how do I fix my iPhone XS when the screen is simply not allowing me to open my apps, read or send messages/calls/facetimes, and refuses to shut down & restart even when I tried all the methods?

iPhone XS Max, iOS 14
