I have complete project on Time line BUT i noticed that i need a clip to be added .The original video from which i have dropped the clips is no more on Imovie but is there on my photos app .how can i bring a small clip from that

You can open iMovie and your Photos library and drag the video directly from the Photos library into the iMovie time line. Or, you can click on the Photos item in the iMovie side bar and drag the video into the time line. Once you get the video into the time line you can trim it down to just the portion that you want to include in your movie.

Best to make a duplicate of your project and work with the duplicate so as to preserve your original. Yes, you can drag the clip directly to the timeline, although it might put your music out of sync, if you have background music in the project.

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. If you don't want to disrupt your present project you can create a new project and drag the clip into that one. Trim it there and then select it and do an Edit/Copy of the clip and Edit/Paste it into your original project (or a duplicate of it).

Select the clip by clicking on it in the new project. Then do Edit/Copy. Then open your original project and do Edit/Paste. It will paste into the timeline wherever you have the playhead located. Any edits that you did to the clip will carry over.
