HomeKit issue with removed devices

I have deleted a Wemo light switch from my Wemo account but it still shows up on my HomeKit with a red “No Response” message. Since this device is physically removed from the network and the Wemo app doesn’t show it either how am supposed to delete it from HomeKit? There is no “Remove Device” option in HomeKit either.

Hello payamfromportland,

Thanks for the additional information.

In this case, select the Bridge option and try to remove the accessory by removing the Bridge. If removing the Bridge don't work, force quit the Home app and then restart your device.

Hello payamfromportland,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having trouble deleting a Wemo light from the HomeKit app. We're happy to help. To confirm, you don't see the option to remove the Wemo light in the Home App? Have you tried force closing the Home App?

Check out the following support articles:

Correct, HomeKit doesn’t offer a “remove accessory” option. Below is a screenshot of the HomeKit settings page for this device.

I have tried everything. I couldn’t delete this device in Wemo app either because the app couldn’t communicate to the device and I called Wemo support. They had to delete it manually from my account (on their side and not through the app) but I don’t know if apple and have such an access to my Home account. If you guys don’t have an option for deleting orphaned accessories (the device is not physically accessible) this should be added to the software.

Thanks,

Payam
