macbook pro 2020 - trackpad hollow tinkering noise

Hi,

I just got the MacBook Pro 13 Inch M1 chip. I am wondering if it it normal to hear a hollow / tinkering sound every time you click on the trackpad? I'm switching over from a 2014 MacBook Pro which didn't make that noise.

Please let me know if this is normal and if anyone else is experiencing this.

Thanks!

This sound is most likely due to the fact that the new M1 Macs do not use the same style of trackpad and are do not actually have a real click. The click that you hear is actually a Taptic Engine.
