is there anything I can try to stop the loud crackling/static noise coming from the track pad on my Mac.
It is quite old so I may just be needing an upgrade as it won’t accept software updates anymore either.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
