Touch ID not working on Apple Notes

Hi there!

I am having great trouble trying to get into my locked notes. I was recently opening them using my Touch ID but recently turned off as it was annoying to open my iPhone with. I then went to open my Notes just today and find that it requires my password (As my Touch ID wasn’t on) so, I turn on my Touch ID in Settings in Touch ID and Passcode and turn it back on in Settings in Notes and went back to re-open my locked note to find that my Touch ID still doesn’t pop up, still asking me for my password which i have unfortunately forgotten. I have tried re-setting and changing my password in the Notes tab in Settings but found out that you can’t open locked notes with your new password. I also tried searching on YouTube and Google and found that none of the solutions work either one thread saying to power off your iPhone but like i stated, it didn’t work either. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and I am in desperate help! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. We see that you don't remember the password you used to lock your notes, and are unable to use Touch ID to view them after disabling it.

We know how important your notes are, and we're glad to help with some information.

The only way to regain access to your notes will be to remember the password you used to lock them.

The reason that Touch ID worked with your notes was that you had the correct password when you set up Touch ID for Notes, and it was able to access your notes until you disabled it.

I am having the same issue and I never set a password for these notes. It was always Touch ID from Day 1. Apple neglected to consider that there are many people who have notes that were only set in Touch ID and are now leaving these users stranded.

Do not reply telling me that I need to enter the password I set for these notes because I never did. It was 100% always through Touch ID. Something happened that 's not letting Touch ID work anymore for these notes.
