[iPhone] Dust particles found inside the camera lenses of an iPhone 12 Pro Max (Malaysia)
Upon unboxing a brand new sealed iPhone 12 Pro Max 256gb Graphite in Malaysia (21/11/2020) in Apple Authorized Reseller store, multiple Dust particle spotted everywhere is all three lenses. (I will share more photos later.)
I got a very bad experiences or you can say probably the biggest mistakes I have done is to purchase from Apple Authorized Reseller instead from www.apple.com
In Malaysia, you need to pay MYR200 as a deposit for pre-order. A unit available will be reserved for you. Customer need to pay the FULL AMOUNT on the collection day to unbox the device. Upon unboxing I do not want to accept this unit but being forced due to denial from the Apple Authorized Reseller shop in Malaysia. Three personnel from the reseller store do not want to acknowledge there is a dust in the lens, they told me upon unboxing the unit is registered to my name and they unable to provide any replacement because they do not have extra stock as it is all allocated for pre-orders only and the only way is I have to bring back to the reseller premium service center.
I bring it back to the service center as advised by the reseller.
Apple Authorized Reseller refuse to exchange/refund to me and I had no choice but got to contact apple.com supports, and currently there is no resolutions as the 3rd unit sent upon unboxing the dust particle is there and even worst than mine. The dust particle hinders the photo capture, auto-focus problem and reflection star like effect in photo taken and this also being acknowledged by the reseller service center and also the other service center where Apple customer support appointed to diagnose the device and they too acknowledge the dust particles issue in the report.
Device issue has been acknowledged by the Authorized Service Center appointed by Apple.com Supports as attached.
Is it not advisable to purchase any product from Apple Authorized Service Center in Malaysia, a lot of unnecessarily hassles! The Apple Authorized Service Center do not want to take responsibility on this matter instead of refunding or replacing a brand new unit, they offered me to repair or replace with another unit which is not official comes with a white box which the IMEI is not the same with my original purchase. Do you guys agree with this? You purchased the phone on the first day and you are forced to accept it and mislead you with information such as this is replaceable and refundable by the service center BUT being offered to repair or to accept a replacement not from the black box but with a unofficial white box? Sorry to repeat, I am depressed.
Apple.com support sent over a new unit to the appointed Authorized Repair Center and upon unboxing, the same particle dust issues happen on the brand new unit.
Today is 9/12/20, Apple.com supports who handle my case for over two weeks called me back and told me there unable to send over the next unit for me to try. And also initially Apple.com wanted to refund me but this has been turned down mentioning that it is because I do not purchase from Apple.com therefore they unable to refund me. Apple.com do not responsible for refund if the device is purchased from Apple Authorized Reseller store. I am really sad and depressed! No words can describe what Apple is trying to do to me as a consumer. Look at the misleading information below, if Apple.com do not want to take responsibility then why appoints reseller?
I have no choice but to seek for consumer rights in Malaysia. Which is to contact Tribunal For Consumer Claims Malaysia. I give up. So much of paying for experiences. Paying so much for an expensive premium phone with manufacturing defects issue. And not me alone facing this, its a Global issue which you can easily google.
I really need my money back! Please do not abuse your consumers! We do not ask for this! The money we paid is not for this. Its a defects from poor manufacturing. Why should we suffer as a consumer to educate you about how to treat us right?
I am an Android users for over a decade. My last Apple iPhone is iPhone4. I did not ask for this. Its a big mistakes!
