Microsoft Exchange Password change "unable to verify account"

I changed the password for my Exchange account and now I need to add the account to my Mail. It always worked before but when I tried to login to the account on Mail using new password it said "Unable to verify account". I've deleted the account form Internet Accounts and tried to re add it and it still says "Unable to verify account". Please help.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. We see that you are having an issue adding your Exchange account to mail after changing its password, and we're glad to help.


Be sure that you are following these steps for adding the account:

Use your internet accounts on Mac


If everything is in order on your Mac, check with your Exchange administrator to make sure that everything is working on their end with the new password you created.
