Infinite Loop of 'Allow Public 00:00:00:00:00:00 to display your iPhone notifications?' Dialog

Just this morning my iPhone Xr on 14.2 went into an infinite loop displaying the dialog 'Allow Public 00:00:00:00:00:00 to display your iPhone notifications?' Don't Allow / Allow

Either chose only re-raises the dialog.

The only way I have been able to stop the dialog loop is to turn off Bluetooth. Once off, it presents the dialog only once and goes away upon select Don't Allow or Allow.

HELP!

My new iPhone 12 Pro started doing this earlier today. Started deleted my BT devices. I’m about 99% sure the problem was coming from my AirPods connection. Deleted it and then rebooted the phone and now I’m back to normal. This is a new iPhone and it was setup using a backup from my previous phone. I have seen BT issues when doing that in the past Bea use each device has its own BT address. Weird thing was that my AirPods had been working fine. Side note, the error didn’t appear on mine phone until after my first reset. Hopefully this helps someone. To delete the AirPods, I had to “Forget them” in between trying to “Allow” the error message. Keep trying, it will work. It didn’t show deleted until after I rebooted the phone.

This just happened to me this morning - no idea why, but I had recently upgraded to iOS 14.5 on my iPhone 12 Pro. Here are the steps I used to resolve it:

  1. "Hey Siri, turn off bluetooth" to get rid of the error and regain sanity / phone access
  2. Go to another device that's connected to the same iCloud account and find your AirPods and "Forget" - it will warn you that removing the AirPods on this device will remove it from all devices on iCloud
  3. Restart iPhone and toggle Bluetooth back on - I actually had to "Forget" both sets of AirPods here as well and it let me without the annoying pop-up
  4. Reconnect AirPods

This is really really silly error - hope Apple fixes it!!

Try to use SIRI, ask siri to turn off your bleutooth. After this you will be able to control your phone again. If siri isn't activated, reset your phone. After this you get a couple of seconds before the screen pops up. Use this time to go to your settings, once on your settings you search for SIRI and activate it. If the pop-up comes back, you just have to press 'allow' or 'don't allow' after this there is a really small time frame where you do scroll or select something in your settings. Hopefully this will help someone !

Hello hypr_actv,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that you are receiving a message saying, "Allow Public 00:00:00:00:00:00 to display your iPhone notifications? Don't Allow / Allow", but choosing either one doesn't clear the message. It just keeps coming back unless you turn off Bluetooth. In a situation like this I would check your Bluetooth settings and remove any that you are no longer using. This article will provide you with steps on how to remove a Bluetooth device under the heading, "Unpair a Bluetooth accessory" which you may find helpful:

Just saw this issue this morning. My phone was quite warm when I picked it up. I  was able to see that the only Bluetooth device listed as connected to my phone was my Apple Watch. However I also had Tile, HP Smart (which I don't think uses Bluetooth) and Toyota Entune open which is for my 2012 Prius, which is rather dated. Relaunched those three apps and the pop up hasn't come back...yet.

This still doesn't ultimately fix the issue though. There is NOTHING wrong with the accessory (A Garmin multisport watch) that caused this in the first place. Millions of others use the exact same watch with their iphone. Why won't mine? Oh, and it was working just fine yesterday. Why is Apple requiring me to reset ALL of my settings when it is clearly a case of their OS doing something wrong. I'm really sick and tired of being the victim of lazy programming from Apple. It will literally take me days to get everything working that I need to including my work VPN application. This is a terrible user experience.

This worked for me. Thank you so much for saving me from a hard reset!

It started when I was driving my son home from school. My iphone 12 Pro was connected to the car bluetooth. My Airpod Pros were in the car but undisturbed within the case in my backpack. My son turned on my iPhone Camera and tried to record video. This seemed to be what caused it to happen. My phone was also feeling hotter than usual.
