I have a 10.14 operating system and so does my husband. I purchased FCP for that system. It has now updated but I still have the older version. My husband and I are working together on a project so we set up family sharing.
First it says he can't download because his computer is not 10.15. Then we went through my purchases and it says "download older version". We click Download and it says "Can't complete purchase".
It's really frustrating!

There are several ways you can do it.
You could copy it to a pen drive and take it to your husband's computer.
Or you could send it using AirDrop, for example.
Just copy the application from the Applications folder onto a small hard drive, or jump drive, or thumb drive. Take it to the other machine and copy it into that machine's Applications folder.
If you haven't got any of the drives mentioned you can use an SD type memory card.
