Restoring Memoji welcome screen

So this is a bit of an unusual use case, but my two year old son has gotten into the habit of playing with my watch before he goes to his crib. His favorite app is Memoji (he calls it “faces”), because the welcome screen is a rotation of a bunch of faces that pop out at you.

Tragedy struck tonight as he accidentally tapped the “Get Started” button, and now the faces are gone. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but there’s no welcome screen. Is there any way to do a deep reinstall of this app so I can get the welcome screen back, without doing a reset of the whole watch? I really have no interest in the app aside from the welcome screen.

Thanks!

Greetings, Watchreader!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you'd like to get your Watch to show the Memoji welcome screen again. We recommend follow thing the steps in this article to Unpair and erase your Apple Watch. Once the Watch is erased, follow these steps to Set up your Apple Watch like new and the Watch will be back to the factory settings.

Have a great day!
