Comparably of the pencil and IPad Pro 12.9 4th generation

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 4th generation! The pencils that I have don’t work! Is there a new pencil that is specifically designed for this iPad? Is there a special adapter needed to charge the older pencil? The pencil charge connection does not fit!
