i opened a link on a scam text

Hello sorry i have only just recently gotten a smart phone so im a bit out of my depth here. anyway early today i got a text form a number claiming to be lyyods my bank saying a new device had been linked of something like that, freaking out i clinked the link and it sent me to a page asking to login and such, however not having done that on my phone before i backed out and went onto my computer only to find after some digging that the numbers is a scam number. i have now blocked the number, deleted the text and turned off and on my phone but is there something else i need to do? is my phone okay or have i messed it up by opening the link even thou i didnt enter any details.

What Laurence says is correct.

Well done for backing out - and now you have learned a valuable lesson. Never ever click on any link in an email. Especially if the email you read makes you concerned or panicky.

Scammers tried and trusted technique is to try to scare us so we act without thinking. None of the organisations you do business with will ever do this.

If you are worried contact the org the email appears to be from by phone, or other contact details on THEIR website (never from the email), and check with them directly.

By the way - same with cold telephone calls. Always say you will hang up and call back, and who should you ask for. Then call back from a different phone if possible, or much later, making sure you have a proper dial tone (To make sure the scammer hasn't held the line open) using the number from the organisations website.

okay, once again thanks for helping me. um whilst the page helped explain what Jailbraking is it didn't really go in to how it is done or how to know if your phone is Jailbroken or not. basically all i have done to this phone since buying it is install like three apps from the store and that is it, does that mean my phone wont be Jailbroken if so great that's a relief.

in the end what im getting from al this is that if my phone isn't Jailbroken i should be fine even thou i clinked on the link (which was dum, i know in hindsight )and it loaded a fake web page of lloyds, so long as i didn't enter an details right?

I know it was silly to click the link , after I calmed down i was so mad at myself for clicking it after so many years of being told to do not do exactly that, but in the moment i didn't think and it could have been really bad. thankfully i didn't enter anything after the page loaded but it still really freaked me out, hence why i dug into it and found out is was a scam, which just made me scared i had messed up and my phone/details could have be compromised even thou all i had done was clicked the link and loaded the page it went to. however luckily from what all of you have said that shouldn't have happened (still a close call which i shouldn't have let happen)

but still thank you everyone who has answered and helped me get through this. i really struggle with technology sometimes and its nice to know there are so many nice people, able and willing to help when needed.
