Activation lock

I found an iPad a little more than a year ago and I tried everything I could to return it but came up empty handed. Would anyone at apple be able to help me remove the activation lock?

No, they would not. Only the original owner can remove the lock. You can recycle the device.

Activation Lock i have an iPad that I purchased that was stolen then later recovered. However now it's locked. I do I have any recourse with Apple to help me unlock it or is it a total loss?
