Can I use a higher Watt charger on my Apple Watch?

I just purchased an Apple 20W charger and wonder if I can use it with a usb "C" adapter to charge my iWatch 6. It is not the cellular model. I heard that all Apple products use Smart Charging and will only draw what they need. Is this true, and safe?

Thank you, Arthur D.

Absolutely correct, the charger rating is simply the maximum possible output, and the actual load is controlled by the device being charged. Your Apple Watch will only take as much power as it wants. My watch has been charged with a 30W charger, no problems.
