Language switching stops working using globe button button on MBP M1

When I launch my MBP M1 language switching using fn button works normally, but in some time after launch this feature stops working, and I should reset my MBP to use this feature.

(fn button works, but it doesn't switch languages)

How can I solve this issue?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0

I recently found that in the Keyboard -> Shortcut settings on my new MacBook Pro there is a shortcut override in "Input Sources" and "Spotlight".

After disabling Control + Space shortcut in the Keyboard -> Shortcut -> Spotlight section language switching button started work again.

I have noticed the same issue with MBP M1. It only starts to work again if I restart the macOS, but it stops working again after using any apps for a couple of minutes, as I tested a few times on purpose, quite annoying.

I believe the macOS 11.2 update includes the fix for this issue, which is listed as "Globe key may not display the Emoji & Symbols pane when pressed". When the input source is only the default language, the global key calls out the Emoji & Symbols. So I think this is the same source of the issue.

It's SO annoying. I am a language teacher and I need to switch back and forth from these two languages very often.

While you are waiting for Apple to fix this, you can use the other shortcuts which everyone used before Big Sur came out last October: Caps Lock or Control Space

This problem is still present in the Big Sur 11.3.1. Setting new shortcuts is a neat workaround, but it would be nice if this bug was just fixed. I can confirm that it is related only to changing input source. If you go to Keyboard settings and set it to show emojis or start a dictation (needs to be pressed twice), it works. If changing input source by pressing the Fn button stopped working, it won't work again until you restart your computer.
