iphone 8 plus trade in for apple 12 pro max

I purchased my new iphone 12 pro max at the apple store. I went to my carrier (AT&T) to trade in my phone expecting the advertised $350.00 trade-in credit (in good condition). I was told that because I didn't purchase the phone direct through the AT&T store I was only entitled to a $75.00 trade in credit? Your Apple advertising is very misleading and it doesn't state that to receive $350 credit all transactions need to be be done through AT&T store? How can I get the trade-in value I was expecting?

Your conclusions are wrong. Apple would have given you a trade it credit of $350 on your iPhone if you would have traded it in to them at that time. AT&T is a completely different company, they determine how much money they will pay for your iPhone.

wrong, I was told at the Apple store that they would only give me $75.00 for a trade in and to go to the AT&T store for the $350 credit which is what I did and then AT&T told me they would only give me $75.00 trade in.
