Iphone 12 Pro Trade In

I want to buy an IPhone 12 Pro whilst trading my IPhone XR against it. Est. delivery date of IPhone 12 Pro is early January - can I keep my iPhone XR until my pro arrives before I send it off for trade in? I do not want to be without a phone.

Trade in before new phone. So i have just ordered the new Iphone 12. And have traded in my Iphone XS max at the same time. Apple say i have to send the XS max within in 14 days. This is before the Iphone 12 is going to be here. Obviously i don't want and can't be with out a phone for any period of time. Is this how it works?? Or can i just send my Iphone in once my 12 is here?

Can I trade in my current iPhone past the 14 days period after receiving a new iPhone? I am planning on buying a new iphone and wanted to trade in my current iphone. Is it possible to trade it after the 14 days period apple gives you to send in your current device or no?
