I was slowly conquering all my software woes with the M1 MacBook Pro 13" when all of the sudden Mail will open, but then only the menu come up at the header and no window what so ever. I have restarted the machine 5 times. I mostly have to force quit Mail to get out of it.
Any Idea how to restore to functioning?

I had the same problem and found one thing that works. Close mail go to applications and choose mail while holding down the shift key. It brings back the view window.
Thanks Bugbear09, that worked for me! Looks like somehow the mailboxes in my tab bar changed order and no mailbox was selected. I have no idea how this happened because I always leave my inbox open.
Managed to get it functioning by repeatedly opening and closing and hitting new viewer window many times, but it still has to be force quit and opens with now viewer window each time.
