IPOD Classic Reset

My iPod classic (160 GB) is always showing "DO not disconnect" msg when connected to my MAC. iPod is not recognised by Mac as well as iTunes. When unplugged it shows "reset using iTunes" msg flashes and immediately go into stand by mode. When I'm in Disk mode "Ok to disconnect" with a tick mark appears. But when connected to Mac again the same "do not disconnect" msg appears.... Any solutions?

See What happened to iTunes? - Apple Support. In Big Sur iTunes has been replaced my Music, TV, Podcasts, Books and Finder. Device management duties have moved into Finder so this is where you go to restore the device if required. If it won't show up in Finder you may need to try another cable and/or check for fluff in the docking port.

The realloc count of 2,296 is reasonably low (about 15% of capacity), however the device will not sync or operate successfully until the 144 pendings have been converted into reallocations, along with any other new unreliable sectors/clusters that might be discovered while this is being done. See my user tip Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community and follow the advice on the DFU restore process or reformatting the drive. This will wipe the drive, so if you need to recover media from the device start with the first section of the tip first.

OK ..First I tried "DFU Restore " method... It went into Finder, 'Ipod Recovery Mode' and displayed "Restore Ipod"....When I press Restore Ipod , it comes back with the msg "Software for this Ipod not currently available".

Then I tried the final method to format using Disk Utility. It started formatting with a display "Erasing apple iPod media (disk2) and creating VishyIPod". Cursor was rolling from left to right for few seconds, then "Operation Failed", "Erase Process has failed" and "Disk object invalid or Unable to Serialise(-69818)" msg displayed... and I am back to square one...

My Ipod was working normally till yesterday and I just connected to sync few more music....thats it... My iPod corrupted...
