how can i restore my photos from my phone and wipe out personal information

To wipe your data, try a factory reset. Do not restore from a backup.


Restore to Factory setting.      


Once the phone is reset, if syncing photos with iCloud, sign into Settings/Your Name using the same Apple ID used to sync the photos to iCloud, and turn Photos syncing on. The photos sync is extremely slow. It could take several days or more for the photos to sync.


If you weren't syncing photos to iCloud, you would have to restore from a backup, which would also restore your other personal data. You could then manually delete all unwanted personal data.
