downloading iOS 14.2 troubleshoot and transferring data i6 to iPhone 7

I am trying to switch from an iPhone 6 to a 7. I got i7 working without transferring the old data which was annoying ('cause it downloaded only really old stuff even with iCloud updates from yesterday) but now it doesn't download the iOS 14.2 either. (which I am guessing its why I cannot download Netflix and D+ apps) I've restarted about 8 times with wifi, with LTE, with SIM card & without it, and there is one thing Ive noticed in the settings (mentioned in some support) is that I cannot see the profile setting in the i7 even though its in the old i6. Can anyone tell me what to do next?

Hello djkg,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! We know how important it is to keep your iPhone up to date with the latest iOS version.

Based on the information you've provided you've done a good job troubleshooting up to this point. With regard to your question about the Profile setting, this is something that you won't see unless there is a profile installed on your iPhone.

To get your iPhone to install the latest update, you'll want to follow the steps in this article for updating over Wi-Fi: If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won’t update. You cannot update using cellular data. If you're unable to download the update wirelessly, you can follow these steps to update using a computer: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

All the best.
