Which eGPU can I use with MacBook Pro for Final Cut Pro X?

After reading these two articles I am not sure which graphics cards are supported by by MacBook Pro 2016 Touchbar.

Apparently NVIDIA is better for video editing at the same price than it's AMD counterparts.

The first list says NVIDIA is supported by Final Cut Pro X,

But the second list it appears no NVIDIA cards are supported if they are connected as an eGPU.

Am I reading this correctly?

Does this mean I should just stick to the eGPU list on the second link?
