iCloud Drive cannot be turned on on iPhone 12, IOS 14.1

I just got my iPhone 12 and was trying to sync all my apps, but most apps ask me to to ‘turn-on’ iCloud Drive.

but when you slide to turn on, the next screen it takes you looks funny and not aligned with only two options to either ‘cancel’ or ‘upgrade’, both of which cannot be clicked to proceed.

switching off and on, as well as logging off from iCloud and signing out of Apple and switching off and on, as suggested by a few sites did not really work and seems like a software bug.
