Can't change weather location - UI bug?

I add the weather widget in Big Sur, and can't change my location.

I try to edit the widget, and the location says "Cupertino". I try to click the location, but the widget does not offer to change the location. The "Done" button also does not work. I can't exit the widget unless I click on the opposite side of the screen.

My question is the built in weather app on this device isn't working, I also have an Macbook Air M1 and the app works fine on it btw. On my iMac M1 though it doesn't show a location and I can't even add a location it's just greyed out. I've reset my identifier multiple times and checked to make sure locations is enabled but nothing seems to help. Has anybody else had this trouble and if so was you able to fix it and if you did how? MacOS Big Sur - Weather widget does not have location permissions This seems simple enough, right? The weather widget on Big Sur just shows the default California location and I cannot change it. Which would be a simple fix, you know, just give the widget the location permissions or something. Except I can't do that, because it doesn't ask for the ability to use my current location and the permissions in settings will not allow me to individually add apps. (seriously, when are we getting that as a feature? it'd fix, like, all the weirdly specific permission issues in macOS ever) I also cannot do that because I apparently no longer even have a weather app, all I have is a widget that displays data for the wrong location. screenshots: (I genuinely don't know how this happened. I don't mess with the system files enough to have managed this, because I can't figure out how to do that on macOS in particular.) (also - on a somewhat related note - I've noticed a small bug with the widgets menu, where if something closes it (like clicking elsewhere on screen or if the screenshot box opens up, for example), it will not open again unless you slide left on the touchpad as though you're closing it and then slide in the opposite direction to open it back up.) Yeah. So, to summarize - the macOS Big Sur weather widget is displaying the default/wrong location, but the only mention of a weather-based anything in my system settings is the weather app, which apparently no longer exists on my system.

Why Can't I Set My Location in the Weather Widget? Updated to Big Sur yesterday. I thought the widgets might be convenient but I can't get them to remember my location. In the Weather widget, specifically, I click on the edit button then on the location but nothing happens. It seems to be stuck on a location 75 miles south of me. I've enabled location services but that seems dependent on WiFi. My Mac is hard wired and I don't use WiFi unless I'm on the road. The Maps app knows where I live because it uses my card in Contacts. Why don't the widgets do this?

Reboot your Mac, and then revisit this widget as clicking the blue Cupertino does allow one to change it. If you have Location Services disabled, clicking My Location will not work. Enter your nearest city name in the Search window of the Weather widget.
