Screen Mirroring Apple Fitness Plus from Iphone to LG TV, not working...

I was in the phone w Apple the other day as well (again) this time for about 90 min. If the lightning cable didn’t work; I figured I’d have my watch reflect on my 5th gen iPad. Well, it doesn’t. We walked though resetting my watch and still nothing. Now she wants me to go though the reset process and take screen shots step-by-step so she can get it to their engineering team. I have no time for this. I am not on Apple’s payroll. It’s quite frustrating that their cord doesn’t work, nor does it reflect on my iPad. I’m stuck watching it on a 4 inch screen on my new Apple SE which I use with my new Apple Watch SE. so I asked if I can pause the trial and was told I want able to. It’s an endless circle of crap with this. I give up and just sticking to the peloton app which I love.

Could you please provide some additional details? Are you using and IPhone or an IPad? How are you hooking up the cables? IPhone to hub via Lightening cable or USB-C cable? Are you hooking up the HDMI cable to the TV from a HDMI port in the hub?

You are completely correct. The article cited gives only the system requirements. It does not deal with the mirroring question. On another discussion I see that it can work with Airplay2. I´m in the process of educating myself about what that is.

Same issue for me, Apple, this will not compel me to buy Apple TV box, all it means it that once my free months are up, I will not buy the paid subscription. I’m an older person, trying to see the workouts on my phone simply isn’t feasible, iPad not a lot better and the iPad app has seized up several times, it’s the new iPad Air with up to date iOS. Cmon Apple, let us mirror or better still add this to the Apple TVs app on the tv, or allow the app to cast directly to the telly, we need a big screen for this but I will have already given you enough money, plenty of good workouts to be found elsewhere after all that I can see full screen.

Peloton app on iPhone let you see your watch stat, heart rate metric data just like fitness+ and you can mirror peloton app no problem by the way. And to be honest peloton community is awesome. I love their instructors. They chit chat through out the workout like your friends

Yea, and let alone peloton app has outdoor workout, outdoor running guidance and live classes you can join. It’s a little more expensive than fitness+ I have both. I have fitness+ mainly because I use Apple One other services so it almost comes “free” with it. Anyway, Apple has upward battle on fitness program. They really have to fix this problem.

I have a new 12 pro max, Apple Watch, IPad, MacBook Pro, and my wife has an iPhone, Apple Watch 5, and a MacBook Air but I wasn’t offered anything haha. I’m sure they’ll fix it otherwise there is going to be a hard decline in subscriptions after the 3 months are up.

Yea but I don’t think the desktop, Apple TV app and their own Bike platform would work with Apple Watch heart rate data. Most users want to see their watch data on the big screen, thus, fitness+. Peloton iPhone app is the only peloton app that works with Apple Watch

Same here! I’m trying to mirror my iphone to Macbook via cable using Quicktime player and everything goes perfect until I start a Fitness+ workout. Then the mac screen goes black and only audio is available 🤦‍♀️🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes, if you start peloton app on your iPhone then broadcast onto tv you got heart rate info on your tv screen as well (Apple Watch connected to iPhone)

I was talking about peloton app for Apple TV. You can also download the app for your Apple TV and start the program that way, it’s faster. however if you start the app that way there is no heart rate info

I was also going to get the premiere apple one plan for fitness+ but no longer if it can’t airplay to my Roku tv like all my other devices and apps can airplay perfectly fine to. It’s too bad I already started my month trial. Two weeks of wasted trial because they couldn’t get this airplay thing to work at launch. Super frustrated.

I don't know why the TV would need to connect to the watch; the watch is connected to the phone, and all I want is to see on the TV what I see on the phone. Which is what happens everywhere else in the app, just not when the actual class begins. I even see the 3...2...1 countdown on the TV before the class begins, and then it goes black.

I've had the dongle for about 6 months, so it's not going back.

Same here, We have two Apple TV 4K in the house just not in the gym room. All I want is to play iPhone content on the wall. It shouldn’t be that hard. I mean iPad with USB C can do it why not lighting cable. USB C is not in the device requirement either

Others are apparently able to screen mirror on an iPad Pro via usb, so no DRM issues there?

When DRM comes up with other apps I always see a pop-up. There’s just a blank screen here.

More than you would think, but it has to stay in contact with the Watch and reflect changes in real time as I already said. And the Lightning connector has less capabilities than USB-C. Use the feedback link.
