External Display bug with M1 MacBook Air

Occasionally when waking from sleep, the device forgets the display scaling factor and only shows the display in the top left 2/3 of the screen. Initially I hoped it would be fixed in 11.1, but the issue has remained since the update.

The issue goes away after multiple attempts at replugging in the laptop to the monitor via TB3, or by going into display settings and switching scaling factors around and back to my preferred setting.

Any ideas if there is a workaround to prevent this from happening? Or do I have to wait for another macOS update to fix this issue?
