apple music using all my storage

Hi all. I have a iPhone XR with a small storage of 64GB but pay for extra iCloud storage to 2GB. The problem I have is the music downloaded on my phone to Apple Music is taking up 25GB of my storage which is now at my 64GB limit. Is there any other way I could manage this better without having to take all my albums etc off my phone? For reference I do have an iPad Pro which has a 256BG which I could use to store the music albums instead but I’m not sure how this works the storage? Many Thanks

iPhone XR, iOS 14

Hi philsimac,

We understand that you'd like suggestions on managing storage with downloaded Apple Music. You can optimize music storage by going to Settings > Music > Optimize Storage.

You also have the option of streaming the music that's been added to your library without downloading it to the phone. You will need a data connection in order to do this. To remove the downloaded music from the device, go to Settings > Music > Downloaded Music. The music in your Apple Music library will have a cloud next to each track.

Have a great day.
