Music Playlist Artwork - too big

The bar is now inexcusably large, and for the size to which I keep the Music window in one corner of my display, I see only THREE SONGS under the bar where the artwork and "info" tab is located.

I install the 11.1 update last night, and go to sleep. Only now after a ridiculously grueling day do I sit down at the Mac, open the app, go to a playlist, and see this huge nonsense.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for something like this. Is there really NO recourse to decreasing the size of the artwork, bar and area? Do I now have to expand the size of my window?

This is starting to get ridiculous, and I don't see an in-application way to send feedback on this and call it out for the huge negative that it is.

I did submit feedback on this, but don't have a lot of confidence that it will be changed. Some engineer somewhere decided that when we are in our playlists and go to our menu options and choose "Songs" in the View menu option, we don't really want to see our songs, we want to see a huge bloated top menu item with artwork. Absolutely ridiculous. I have been a Mac user forever and don't often complain or submit feedback, but my music is extremely important to me, and I spend a lot of my time working on it. This change really upsets me as it will make it much more difficult for me to work on my playlists.

Same issue. They didn't fix the myriad of other issues with the latest software update (including the ability to adjust the list of songs playing next, that they made it much easier to accidentally delete playlists, etc.) but they managed to ruin the view of playlists too by making over half the screen the artwork and title bar so that you can only see a few songs at a time in the actual playlist.

Agree. This is crazy. When I choose the "Songs" view in my menu options, I want to see my songs, not some huge heading that impedes my ability to work on my playlists. I have a lot of different playlists with a lot of songs in each, and I spend a fair bit of time adding and deleting songs, and just generally working on my playlists. This huge heading really impedes my ability to do this. This is just nuts. At least give us the ability to shrink this top header so we can make it smaller and actually see more of our songs. I am really, really frustrated with this change.

I'll add a simple "what the?" to this list as I just got a new M1 so had to update from iTunes (that I've been using to organize my tunes since its inception). I'm happy that this app is no longer an albatross of useless (to me) options but... this view is just plain silly. Please, good people of apple, realistic sizes or an option to change.

I've replied on this thread before, but every time I go to work on my music this just ****** me off. I have a lot of music, and I spend a lot of time working on my playlists. This has made it much more difficult for me to do something I always used to enjoy. As I've said before, there are a number of different view options within the playlists. But when I choose to view my playlists as "songs", I want to see the songs. Not some huge display of artwork. Absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately I have very little confidence this will be changed.

Just throwing my hat into this. I've submitted feedback about it. It's god awful, I can barely see any songs in my list. It's just an ugly, bloated design that is a complete usability nightmare. What a waste of space. I have visual impairment so I make my list size bigger, and this just takes up SO MUCH ROOM that I can't even navigate a playlist in any sane way any longer.

Please Apple, I'm begging you. Give us an option to hide this header. Or just take it away. Please.
