System/user Password authentication in macOS Big Sur 11.1

I updated my MacBook Pro with the latest macOS Big Sur 11.1 Once the installation was done, Log in page appeared and I could login with my system password. I have a few of the applications which needed my touch authentication ( or system/user password). But when I tried providing authentication, it did not work. I tried restarting system but it was of no help. I read a few articles that reset the system admin password on system recovery mode but when I was able to login in the system so it should have worked in the applications too. I got in touch with apple support.

The solution was simple - When I restarted my system and pressed option key, Macintosh hd Arrow Popped up, I clicked on it and followed login. After that my password and touch authentication worked as well like before.

Thanks to Apple support team.
