Bluetooth Cuts Out With iPhone 12

My iPhone 12 Pro Max is cutting out terribly with Bluetooth audio while it is charging on the MagSafe charger. The audio is fine when I pull it off the charger, but while it sits on the MagSafe is will drop chunks of audio intermittently. Enough to be annoying and even miss key words if listening to a speech or book. This does not happen with normal lightning cable charging. Only with MagSafe.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and is this something that has an immediate fix, or is this just a permanent issue with the current technology?

Hello dele16,

Thank you for reaching out to use Apple Support Communities.

We’re happy to look into this with you and see what may be causing this behavior. Having your audio cut in and out is really not enjoyable.

If you have another device, you can test using the MagSafe charger and the Bluetooth connection that would be great. That would help us know if it’s the iPhone or charger.

Have you checked the MagSafe to make sure there is no damage? Or possibly try powering it on a different outlet?

Is the iPhone’s iOS updated? The current version is iOS 14.3, see Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch should you need it.

Reach back out if we can help further.

Have a great weekend!
