Copy and paste

I use an iPhone XR. I selected text information from an email still in draft to copy. It gave me copy option and then I tried to paste that information into a text message. At the top a message popped up saying copied from email. The text would show in text box. Press arrow to send and disappears unsent. So, I copied the information into notes, just to see. The information pasted into notes. I tried to copy from there into text box. Same pop up but this time it said from notes. Wouldn’t send again...

Why would this happen?

iPhone XR, iOS 14

Hello haljay22,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

Based on what you mentioned, you are trying to copy text from an email and send it as a text. Notes does not remove the meta data that may be associated with your email; it actually paste the data as you copied it. It is possible that the email was sent in HTML. Check an alternate email with plain text. You can even send yourself an email, use that at the test email, then copy that text. Check if your results are different.

Best wishes!
