Is there a way to get HomePod NOT to automatically play more music at the end of a song/playlist?

When I ask HomePod to play a song or playlist, it plays what I've asked it to just fine, but once it has finished it continues to play random related music instead of just turning off. So, for example, if I say "Play 'I Want You Back' by the Jackson 5" it'll play that song... and then continue playing more songs from that genre. My HomePod used to only play exactly what I requested... now it doesn't.

I often use playlists to fall asleep and it can be jarring when it suddenly starts playing something much louder at the end of my peaceful playlist.

The command above, telling Siri to set to repeat fixes the problem. It looks like repeat overrides autoplay. I tested last night. Did, Siri play this playlist. Checked music, autoplay was on. Repeat and shuffle were off. Autoplay was set at the bottom of the playlist. Told Siri to turn on repeat. Repeat icon turned on. Autoplay icon stayed on. Autoplay list at the bottom was gone.

Hi there ebeeb,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're attempting to disable Autoplay for your HomePod. We're happy to help!

When playing something on your HomePod, you can find what is currently playing in the Music app of your iPhone or iPad. Open the Music app, and then tap the song that is currently playing in the bottom of the app. Once there, tap the Up Next button on the bottom right. From there you will see the Autoplay symbol (infinity symbol) and you can deselect it.

To see these exact steps, check out our article here:

Add music to your queue to play next on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device

We hope you have a great rest of your day!
