update from 11.01 to 11.1 hangs at 10 minutes remaining

The update proces from Big Sur 11.01 to 11.1 keeps hanging at 10 minutes remaining on my mackbook Pro (15-inch, 2018). What is wrong and how to fix? What I already tried: I restarted the update proces, restarted the macbook.

And after restarting the update proces the fan of the macbook makes a lot of noise and some programs hang for a while and react slow. After a restart the macbook works fine again but still can't update.

Give the Download a lot of time but try to keep it active and do not let the computer to sleep. In my case, when arriving at 15 minutes remaining it took 30 realtime minutes to reach 10 minutes remaining and then another 15 minus realtime to reach 5 minutes and so on and so forth. Just be patient is the best advice. Oh, disconnect any other devices sharing the Wifi - want to max bandwidth to the computer.
