Is there a max size or limit on number of files we can share via airdrop?

I tried selecting all my photos in my Mac Photos app (22,000+) and right click to share via airdrop but the share button is greyed out.

I then select 1 single photo from the app and right click and I was allowed to share via airdrop.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

I'd say the number of files is too high, try sending 100 or so...

There is not a file size limit when using AirDrop. What happens when you try to use AirDrop between the two devices? Do you get an error message? Take a look at the article below that provides some additional information that can help with using AirDrop.
