I listen to iHeart radio during the day. Recently when I open twitter iHeart radio stops playing. Is there a setting I must change? Like others seems to have started after the latest update.

Yes,
You will need to contact the developers of the iHeart radio app and see if anything has changed, for their monthly subscription plans and if those subscription plans have changed where you cannot play music when the app is no longer the active app.
YouTube did this for being able to stream videos while the app is runnung in the background.
Can no longer play YouTube videos in the background without a premium, monthly subscription.
