Exit out of streaming app, TV app is showing

When I exit out of a streaming app, for example Netflix, using the Home button, I exit out and find myself not back at the Home Screen, but inside the Apple TV a app.

How do I stop this behaviour ? I don’t use the TV app for any of my services, preferring to use individual apps.

Apple TV YouTube App requires Exit or Cancel to switch to a different App This is a new issue. On my LG Smart TV, using Apple TV, I watch the YouTube App, but when I try to switch to another App, Netflix or Fox Sports for example, YouTube is now asking if I really want to Exit or Cancel. If I Exit, I get a black screen and have to shut off Apple TV and turn it back on to get anywhere else. I am a YouTube subscriber, but not sure if that is making a difference.

Apply tv continuous play listen I know this just sounds like a complaint but there is an honest question I swear I shouldn’t have to make a playlist or choose up next when a tv show is already a playlist this is really annoying and honestly if I had known that apple doesn’t do continuous/auto play I wouldn’t have bought anything on the app please just add the feature, it’s not something that makes Apple TV cool and different it makes it not worth using. this is why people lose days on YouTube Netflix tiktok and everything else because it just makes sense yes we’re coked and numbed out rats pressing the button for pleasure over food — we know Can anyone who works at apple honestly say they wouldn’t find this annoying using the app themselves? Or if Netflix started doing this or prime video that they wouldn’t find it annoying on those apps?

The TV/Home button is programmable to go either to the Home Screen or to the TV app. Verify its current setting, and change if needed. Set the Home button destination on Apple TV - Apple Support
